Safety is the foundation of every activity conducted at The Armory.

Core Principles

Five rules that govern everything on the range

Treat every firearm with respect+
Every firearm on the range is handled as though it is loaded, at all times, by everyone — members, staff and first-time visitors alike.
Maintain muzzle control+
The muzzle is kept pointed in a safe direction at all times, on and off the firing line.
Maintain trigger discipline+
Fingers stay off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until the sights are on target and you are ready to fire.
Know your target and impact area+
Shooters are responsible for positively identifying their target and the approved impact area behind it before firing.
Obey Range Safety Officer instructions immediately+
Designated Range Safety Officers have immediate authority over safety during live-fire operations. Their instructions are followed without delay.

Range Safety Officers

RSOs hold immediate authority over safety during every live-fire operation on-site.

First-Time Users

New shooters complete registration, induction and supervision requirements before live fire.

PPE

Appropriate eye and hearing protection is mandatory wherever required.
